Petrichor, In Times of Drought
Petrichor, In Times of Drought was created in collaboration with floral artist Amélie Davignon. It explores how humans, not unlike certain plants, go through droughts – emotional, mental and of other kinds – and how they use personal interests, loved ones, art and whatever they can grasp onto to stay nurtured and survive.
Short, experimental texts resembling haikus were created along Petrichor. They are based on biology studies made on the subject of petrichor. Please find them below.
Models, in order of appearance: Jules Moynat, Gwen Oudomphanh, Kimi Chat, Alexandre Rasolofo, Lucas, Alice

Petrichor, In Times of Drought
In a gray desert
Mountains shrink
From their radiant past
All senses alert
A rampant feeling rises
Darwinian weather nears
Kaolinised
We see a sign
Grief is yet to come
Carbonyl flows
Nurturing the soil
So we may grow next
Roots of sulphur
Turn dry and light
And crumble
A single drop plummets
Immaculate snow crackles
Aqueous regret and sorrow
My wounded wrists
Bear black scars
For the oilfall
Life always decays
Steely scents gather:
Another one dead
In chaos and disorder
Porous liquid shows
We bleed
Dry leaves lie flat
A swelling occurs
There is no rest
Our pores dilute
In hope for a thunderstorm
We are withered
Gelatine shells
Yield no strength
Against the drought
Everything pauses
Tonight, elements spread
With high-speed
A neutral mixture
Of acid and water
Brings life again
Bacteria rest
For we are plentiful
Till monsoon
Infra-red reveals
The catalytic phenomenon
That we cannot fathom
It is a pale mechanism
Of flesh and seeds
It is unavoidable
In time and place
All has grown,
Demeter harvests
